I'm Still Here!

Hey, everybody! I'm still here! I just keep mommy and daddy so busy taking care of me and chasing me that they don't have much time to write about me.

I just had my 9 month check up and I weigh just over 18 lbs and I'm 28 inches long now! I also had a flu shot. OUCH!!

I crawl and crawl and walk along the furniture and get into everything that I can until mommy or daddy catches me. I especially love to play with cords and plugs. Good thing they aren't plugged in.

Emma's Summer Adventures

I have had a fun summer. I am growing and learning so many new things. At my 6 month checkup I weighed 14 lb 15.5 oz and was 25.5 inches long. I am now bigger than that and am getting smarter and stronger every day. I can now crawl really well and am even starting to pull myself up - almost to a standing position. I do like to stand and hold onto the table as long as Daddy or Mommy has their hand on my back. I love paper and cardboard boxes. I also like to try typing on the computer ... I've even tried typing with my toes. Mommy doesn't like it very much when I try to help her send emails.

This summer I had the opportunity to go camping for my first time. By the 2nd night I had adjusted to the outdoors and slept much better ... the 3rd night I was a pro (at least with the sleeping part of camping). I enjoyed our family reunion over the 4th of July weekend. The next week my newest cousin was born. Her name is Adi - we are nearly 6 months apart in age. In the middle of July I was a model on Studio 5. See the video clip on this blog. I'm so cute!

We went to the KSL summer party at Lagoon and I got to ride my first ride ... the giraffe on the carousel. I enjoyed it! Here are some pictures from my summer adventures.

At Lagoon I got really HOT ... Daddy learned that I could drink water directly from Mommy's water bottle.

Here I am on my first amusement park ride. We are on the carousel and I am on the giraffe. Mommy had me strapped in really good. She could even let go and I couldn't move.

Eating and Laughing

This is the first time I got to sit in my booster seat.

I am more concerned that Mommy has the camera out than I am with what Daddy is trying to feed me. At my second feeding, Mommy let me hold my own spoon.


It was lots of fun until I gagged myself. This is what I looked like after getting the spoon too far in my mouth.

Mommy is doing the tickling and Daddy is secretively taking the pictures. See I do have a fun smile and laugh!

Mommy likes this picture the best - because this is what I look like most of the time when I am laughing and playing.

4 Months Old

I am now 4 months old! I went to the doctor today to get more shots - they hurt and I don't feel very good tonight. I am now 23.5 inches long and I weigh 11 lb 14.5 oz.

I can now sit quite well with support. Here I am in my Bumbo chair.
I've been camera shy lately ... well, every time my parents get out the camera I stop laughing and smiling and instead I try to figure out what that thing is they have in their hands. I won't smile until they put it away. Once it is out of sight I smile and laugh again. I am so funny!

This is the best smile I have shown the camera ... I had to have my daddy help me smile.

Baby Houdini

Mom came into my room to check on me in my bed and this is what she found. Can you see me in the picture?Ha Ha!! I am so smart, I can now roll on to my left side and then magically turn and roll ... turn and roll. This is where I ended up this time.

Bottles, Eyelashes, and Sleep

I am learning how to sit up ... at least I do stomach crunches and try to sit up most of the time. When I am being held, I like to face forward and look at what is going on all around me. I am learning how to hold my own bottle and find that sometimes Mommy and Daddy have let me feed myself. When I realize this, I let go of the bottle and it falls and then I cry.

I am known for my "trademark" eyelashes! Check them out! Most people tell me that when I open my eyes really wide that my eyelashes touch my eyebrows! Hey, I already knew that!

Sometimes I just have to sleep with Mommy ... that is the only way that I can calm down enough to fall asleep. Here is a picture of both of us sleeping!
